“This One-Word, in the context of climate, can become the basic foundation of One World. This word – LIFE…L, I, F, E, which means Lifestyle for Environment Today shows that there is a need for all of us to come together and take Lifestyle for Environment (LIFE) forward as a campaign.” (Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, Cop 26, Glasgow).
Appreciating the value of environmental awareness, NewAge World School has launched an Eco-Club to empower learners to embrace sustainable development. By integrating traditional conservation methods with modern scientific understanding, the club instils the core values of sustainable living. Students are encouraged to become responsible stewards of nature through actionable 'Mission LiFE' activities, focusing on energy conservation and waste management. Through its latest initiatives, the club promotes mindful resource utilisation—fostering daily actions such as saving water, reducing waste, and adopting healthy lifestyles—to build a greener future aligned with global Sustainable Development Goals.
On World Environment Day students planted saplings and organized a special assembly to spark environmental awareness. By actively restoring local ecosystems, students embraced their role as nature’s stewards, directly contributing to SDG 13 (Climate Action) by improving air quality and reducing the school’s carbon footprint.
Building on this momentum, the club has also launched a vibrant kitchen garden. Students are now hands-on, cultivating organic herbs and vegetables seeking to promote healthy eating and fostering teamwork, patience, and a practical understanding of sustainability.
Through hands-on monitoring of school water consumption, students gain valuable insights into resource management. This initiative empowers them to identify inefficiencies and address wastage directly. By taking this lead role, the youth are not just learning about sustainability—they are actively building a more water-conscious school culture.
"Greener future" is more than a buzzword at NewAge World School—it is the core of our daily existence. This year, we have embraced the challenge of sustainability by turning the school into a living, breathing laboratory. Through tailored workshops focusing on composting and zero-waste initiatives, efforts are being made to encourage the students to adopt eco-friendly lifestyles. We believe that small, daily choices are the seeds of massive environmental shifts. Together, we are not just learning about the environment; we are nurturing it.
Our journey starts in the classroom. Through our Eco-Conscious classroom initiatives, waste segregation has become second nature. With dedicated systems for biodegradable, non-biodegradable, and hazardous materials, students aren't just throwing things away; they are using the discarded materials to make stunning pieces of art. This initiative teaches us to look past the surface of an object and find value where others see a "junk pile."
Educational videos featuring 'Real-World Recycling Insights' provided valuable lessons, helping students understand the intricate systems behind waste management and the dedicated individuals sustaining them. This makes the students think before tossing something out and asking, “Can this be upcycled, donated, or composted?”
NewAge School believes that big changes start with small steps. From the flick of a switch to the stroke of a paintbrush, our students are being encouraged to become Energy Guardians. By simply switching off tube lights, bulbs, and gadgets when leaving a room, we aren’t just lowering electricity bills—we are building a lifelong culture of responsibility and teaching “Small Habits, Big Savings."
Our informative sessions dive deep into the world of renewable energy. Students explore how solar, wind, and hydro power can combat climate change and break our dependence on fossil fuels. Through vibrant poster and wall art activities, our young artists turn conservation tips into visual masterpieces proving that saving the planet can be as innovative as it is essential. Let’s keep the momentum going—because at NewAge, every watt saved is a step toward a brighter world!
We are on a journey to eliminate single-use plastics and transition to a plastic-free campus! A key focus of this initiative is to encourage everyone to swap plastic water bottles for sustainable steel or glass alternatives—promoting healthier habits while reducing waste. Beyond the bottle, we are also promoting eco-friendly lunchboxes, implementing strict waste segregation drives.
To further engage our students, we hosted a series of activities designed to challenge their knowledge and creativity. Participants showcased their dedication through various platforms, ranging from rapid-fire quizzes and convincing debates to poster-making and essay-writing competitions.
As we ignite environmental awareness within the NewAge community, we are doing more than teaching—we are empowering our students to reduce their carbon footprint and become active custodians of our planet. By aligning our Eco-Club initiatives with Mission LiFE and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4, 6, 11, 12, 13, & 15), we provide our learners with a profound sense of global purpose and responsibility.
Rooted in the transformative vision of the NEP 2020, our curriculum proves that "positive seeds grow lasting forests." The curriculum integrates interactive projects and creative storytelling to not only teach environmental stewardship but also help students develop the essential habits required to support a greener future. We are committed to fostering eco-saviours who are dedicated to restoring the Earth’s balance and harmony. Ultimately, we are guided by the timeless truth that we do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, but borrow it from our children. Together, the NewAge community is sowing the seeds for a greener, sustainable future.
