Introduction

NewAge Games is a special event—usually held in our school dedicated to sports, physical activities, and games. NewAge Games was held on 20th December, 2025 in the school ground.

It typically includes:

• Track and field events (running races, long jump, relay, etc.)

• Fun games and physical challenges

• Award ceremonies for winners and participants

Why NewAge Games is Important?

NewAge Games is important because it promotes physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. It encourages students to take part in physical activities, which helps to improve strength, stamina, and overall health. NewAge Games also teaches valuable life skills such as teamwork, discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship. By participating in games and competitions, students learn how to cooperate with others, follow rules, and handle both success and failure gracefully.

In addition, NewAge Games helps reduce stress and refreshes the mind. It provides a break from academic routines and allows students to enjoy themselves in a positive and energetic environment.

Opening Ceremony

The ceremony began with a disciplined March Past by the House Teams - Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and Topaz, saluting the Chief Guest and dignitaries, showcasing unity, coordination, and sportsmanship. The School Prayer was offered seeking blessings for a successful, safe and spirited Sports Day. This was followed by the School Anthem reflecting the values and spirit of the institution. The management formally welcomed the Chief Guest, dignitaries, parents, staff, and students.

Our NewAge Games was made truly special by the presence of Ms.Niki Prasad, a celebrated women’s cricketer whose journey in Indian cricket continues to inspire young athletes across the country. Known for her leadership, discipline, and passion for the game, Ms.Niki Prasad stands as a shining example of what determination and hard work can achieve.

She rose to national prominence through her outstanding performances in India’s women’s youth cricket, most notably as the captain of the Indian Women’s Under-19 team. Under her leadership, the team showcased exceptional skill, teamwork, and resilience on the global stage, culminating in a historic ICC win. Her calm decision-making, consistent performances, and ability to lead from the front have earned her recognition as one of the most promising talents in women’s cricket.

At our NewAge Games event, Ms.Prasad was the Guest of Honour, where she interacted warmly with students, athletes, and staff. She encouraged participants to compete with sportsmanship and confidence, emphasizing that success is built through daily discipline rather than overnight results. Her address resonated deeply as she shared insights from her own journey—balancing academics, training, setbacks, and the pressure of performing at the highest level.

The official declaration of the NewAge games was followed by the solemn Sports Oath, where the students pledged to participate with honesty, fairness, and respect for the rules. The oath reinforced the true spirit of sports and reminded everyone that integrity is as important as victory.

The atmosphere turned electrifying with the Lighting of the Torch, symbolizing the flame of hope, determination, and unity. The torch stood as a beacon of inspiration, igniting passion and competitive spirit among the participants. Next, came the March Off by the House Teams, a spectacular display of discipline, coordination, and unity. Each house marched with pride, showcasing their teamwork and house spirit, earning loud applause from the audience.

One of the most memorable moments was the Felicitation of Sports Achievers, where outstanding performers were honoured for their dedication and excellence. This segment celebrated hard work, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence, motivating other students to aim higher. Adding a joyful and festive touch to the event were the wishes of Santa Claus, which brought smiles and laughter among students and spectators alike. This light-hearted moment created a warm and cheerful atmosphere, especially for the younger participants.

The audience was then treated to a graceful Yoga Display, highlighting flexibility, balance, and mental focus. The performance emphasized the importance of physical and mental well-being in a student’s life. Excitement peaked during the Inter-House Tug of War, where teams demonstrated strength, strategy, and unity. The thrilling competition kept the audience on the edge of their seats as houses battled fiercely yet sportingly.

The Taekwondo Display was a real feast to the eyes, showcasing agility, self-discipline, and martial arts skills. The energetic moves and precise techniques left the audience spellbound and highlighted the importance of self-defence and confidence. This was followed by a series of track events which have always been the main attraction. They showcase not only physical strength but also discipline, coordination, and sportsmanship.

Sprint events are actually all about speed, focus, and explosive power. Participants ran over short distances, giving their best from the starting whistle to the finish line. These events enthralled the audience and highlighted individual athletic excellence. The relay races saw a display of teamwork and coordination. Each team member ran a fixed distance and smoothly passed the baton to the next runner. Success depends not only on speed but also on trust, timing, and flawless baton exchange.

Hurdle events tested the athlete’s speed, agility, and technique. Runners sprinted while jumping over evenly spaced hurdles, maintaining balance and rhythm. It was a perfect blend of strength and precision. The shuttle relay was a fast-paced and exciting team event where runners sprinted back and forth between two points. It was a means to challenge endurance, quick turns, and team coordination, keeping both participants and spectators energized and at the edge of their seats.
